The Story of Our Logo

Our logo was created in the early days of the Foundation by a grade 6 student at Wolfe Elementary School in Vancouver, where one of our directors was a teacher.

The concept of sending support for libraries and literacy to Nepal was introduced to the students following a slide presentation of Alison and Paul Bird's first visit there. As well as seeing images of mountain scenery and village life, the students also saw photographs of schools in remote locations which possessed few, if any, books or paper. A class discussion followed and students were asked to compare their school environment with those they had been shown. After hearing of NLF's mission, students were asked to create a design that would encapsulate our vision. Our present day logo is the one we chose to represent our organization.
